I believe I did my best to be a good daughter; raised with the values and strength of the traditional Chinese culture. I watched and learned from my parents that real accomplishment requires sacrifice, hard work, and persistence. Family duties and traditions should always take first priority in life. Always be careful with my life choices and decisions. They taught me everything they knew, shared their life limitations, and defined how my life should look. This was my parent's life program playing in my head for most of my childhood.
I am very fortunate for the life skills they instilled in me. And I know there are many more I've yet to learn and integrate in to my life. Many life lessons will be outside of my parent's life program, introduced during moments where I might feel scared, challenged, unclear, or lacking confidence. During my first life transformation, I discovered new life lessons—"be all that I can be," "personal fulfillment," "life balance," "self-expression," and many others—connected to my you-ness. Each one of my discovery challenged my parent's life program and all of which became my core values (what's important to me). I now live with my "revised" life program which supports me, who I am and becoming.
